Meng Aun Tan is the founder of Articulate Intelligence, an education technology company focused on AI-powered grading and learning tools for students, parents, and tuition centres.
Meng Aun graduated from Cornell University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Engineering in Operations Research & Industrial Engineering, and began his career in Deloitte Consulting New York. He later completed his Master’s degree in Management Science & Engineering at Stanford University, specialising in optimisation, entrepreneurship, and financial engineering.
After returning to Singapore, he built experience across diverse industries. He was among the first hires at Ubisoft Singapore, helping set up studio operations during its formative years. He subsequently joined his family’s air-travel business, which was eventually acquired, before venturing into entrepreneurship. Over the years, he founded several companies, including a travel marketing website and a sports resistance-training equipment distributorship during the COVID period.
Meng Aun began working intensively with AI in 2022, initially developing internal tools to streamline business operations. As a parent, he soon realised the potential of AI to transform learning—especially in supporting his own children through Primary School and PSLE. This led to the creation of practical, curriculum-aligned tools such as the Articulate Science Grader and English Composition Grader, designed to make quality feedback accessible anytime, anywhere.
To ensure the tools are easy to use for all families and educators, he built them around a simple WhatsApp interface, turning AI into a friendly assistant that integrates seamlessly into daily study habits. Today, Articulate continues to grow as a platform dedicated to helping students learn better and helping educators teach more efficiently.
